Our Story
Our founders, Shandon and Valerie Classen, opened Cozy Corner November 4, 2022. Their idea for The Cozy Corner didn’t begin as a coffee & drink house; it began as a desire to bring the young adult crowd of Liberal and the surrounding areas together. Their peers seemed to like talking, hanging out, and specialty drinks, so what better way to bring them together than a coffee & drink house?
On April 21, 2026, Andrew and Melissa Puett purchased The Cozy Corner from Shandon and Valerie. They saw the love and care Shandon and Valerie had for our community and wanted to see that vision and love continue. The Liberal community is a special place and deserves a place designed just for them!
Our Mission
Our mission is to serve the community by providing a quality, comfortable, and inviting atmosphere in which to gather and connect.
Historical Foundations
The Cozy Corner resides in one of Liberal’s oldest downtown buildings. Built as The Central State Bank, the building has since housed barbers, a salon, an antique shop, and more.
We’re in the process of creating a living record of all that our building has seen since its construction. If you have photos, remember something that you did here as a child, or know anything else about its history, please reach out to us!
